Competence

Our commitment to social sustainability extends beyond our employees and customers to the broader community. Health and safety are always prioritized in our efforts, which include creating secure workplaces within an environment of openness, inclusion, and equality. We strive to ensure that our employees thrive and develop through shared ownership, social activities, and skill enhancement at all levels.

Safety

At TESS, we embrace a zero-incident philosophy. We continuously work to prevent accidents and injuries. Risk assessments and safe job analyses are conducted before every work operation, and any unwanted incidents are reported in our quality management system, QM+.

Health and Attendance

TESS has set an ambitious attendance target of 95.5%. The result for 2023 was 93.3%. To progress toward this goal, we have implemented several initiatives, including increased focus on the support and guidance of leaders to ensure earlier and closer follow-up with employees on sick leave, as well as preventative measures to reduce absenteeism.

In 2023, the number of injuries at TESS was comprised of 11 absenteeism-related injuries and four injuries requiring medical treatment.

Focus on Well-Being

Our goal is to create an inclusive and motivating workplace where all employees feel safe and inspired to perform at their best. We offer a range of employee benefits that promote health and well-being, such as discounts on gym memberships, coverage for medical visits, and private health insurance.

Each region within TESS has its own employee association aimed at facilitating common leisure activities for staff, fostering camaraderie and enhancing overall workplace morale.

We conduct regular employee surveys to gain insights into what is working well and what can be improved. The results are actively used to enhance the work environment and overall working conditions.

Competence

TESS is a dynamic learning organization that embraces rapid changes and proactively prepares for the future. We are dedicated to the training and development of our workforce and prioritize the promotion of our own employees.

The Training Portal serves as a key resource in our training strategy, enabling us to facilitate the continuous enhancement of our employees' practical and theoretical skills. This commitment is vital for delivering high-quality services to our customers and for sustaining a competitive and proficient workforce.

TESS Academy oversees our competency program, providing training courses that are relevant both internally and externally. Key competencies within the organization are assessed at least once a year during management reviews.

Gender Balance

Historically, the industry has been characterized by a higher proportion of men, which has led to a greater representation of men in leadership roles. At TESS, we are dedicated to advancing gender equality and increasing the representation of women, particularly in leadership positions. To achieve this, we implement gender-neutral job postings and utilize inclusive imagery in our communications.

Board Composition:
Norway has taken the lead globally by introducing legislation that mandates gender balance on the boards of large and medium-sized companies. In 2024, TESS added ten new female members to its board, bringing the total number of women serving on TESS boards to sixteen.
